Mission Statement

“What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it.

And when he hath found it, he layeth it on his shoulders, rejoicing. And when he cometh home, he calleth together his friends and neighbours, saying unto them, Rejoice with me; for I have found my sheep which was lost.”

Luke: 15: 4-6

Words from the President of Project Lost Sheep

Project Lost Sheep has been made for a mission. Jesus said: “In the same way that you gave me a mission in the world I give them a mission in the world.” John 17:18

You were made for a mission.

God is at work in the world, and He wants you to join him. Our English word MISSION comes from the Latin word for SENDING. Being a Christian includes being sent into the world as a representative of Jesus Christ. Jesus said: “As the Father has sent me I am sending you.”

Pastor Rick Warren said: “If just one child will be in heaven because of you, your life will have made a difference for eternity.”

God bless you as you reach out to the children of your city.

Our mission in Touchdown Camps is to provide a community based outreach to at risk children.

In Redwood City for the last five years Project Lost Sheep has implemented a one week day camp called Touchdown Camp. We expect 150 children this summer in camp.

We expect to have 50 community volunteers to help with the activities which include sports, Christian values training, a speaker series, crafts, drama, and food service.

Patty Cardona, president of Project Lost Sheep and pastor’s wife at Verbo Church in Redwood City, uses extreme need to select all the children who receive camp gratis.

Children range in ages from six to eleven. Touchdown Camp has a high success rate in integrating children at risk of being swept into drugs and gangs by integrating them into a local faith based community. Changed lives and families have been documented through this program.

The plan for Touchdown Camps is to expand them across the USA. We use camp as a “training” time for those who want to have camp happen elsewhere.

Camp this summer was held Monday August 3 – 8.
